I think you should reference you cross-posts or they're gonna think your really weird...

But you do bring up an interesting piont... small recirculating pump and drip feeding the biological matter.

Would be touchy...

Could be disasterous!

But interesting none-the-less...

This was for during the off time...just to keep things going. Probably to much trouble for you tho. Did you calculate for the power saver module? Go with an eneergy efficient pump (iwaki maybe?).

And as a reference thereis no harm in turning your pump on & off with 10hrs in between

Good luck and keep us posted with your outcome.

I regularly shut off one of my systems. During the summer I have to shut it off for half the day due to excessive heat produced by the pump. Right now the timer is removed but I still manually shut it off during feedings (installed a RF remote control). I often forget to turn it back on. So far, I have not seen a die off of my bacteria. I keep a small 60gph pump circulating water through the filter system at all times (it does not shut down when the rest of the system does).

i do believe i am going with a sequence baracuda pump 325 watts i can live with that i had just never seen a thread about this and thought it may be an interesting idea maybe i will try it one day on a small system with some convicts or something and see if it works thanx for all the replies it has been enlightining
