Cycling tanks.

I don't understand why people want to use tap water for a new tank when they can use water or filter media from some of their other tanks and bypass the so called cycle.

The colony of bacteria resides in the filters and substrate more than the water column hence water is useless.

out of my 12 years caring for a fish. I have never cycled a tank and never had any problems. I am just asking you guys if also don't cycle tanks.

I Am not A troll!
Do not flame me.

No, sorry to say you are incorrect. You've cycled every tank you have. Unfortunately it was with the fish that you keep in those tanks. I recommend you learn the nitrogen cycle and keep form exposing any more of your fish to ammonia and nitrite poisoning

The water is not useless if it has gone through the cycle and established. You can transfer that water to a new tank and add fish. It is the same as adding new fish to an established tank.

Without a colony of bacteria this water would quickly become unable to support fish. The water carries very little beneficial bacteria so it is essentially useless

Not if you are using a new filter that has not yet been established, if you use an established filter as well as water then you "should" be fine.

I have never intentionally cycled it.

The reason I don't have catastrophic die-offs is because I use AmQuel with every water change, always. (AmQuel neutralizes ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate.)

Transferring old water from tank my aid in the cycle, but it will not bypass the cycle of you tank. Water does not hold enough BB to accomplish this.

I remember when I first cycled my tank. I spent roughly 6-8 weeks cycling it due to the advice I got from this forum. The lesson is invaluable. Learned loads about the nitrogen cycle. I would stop arguing. Good idea for a post though!
