.97 Cents a kilowatt! It's .12-.13 cents a kilowatt here. I'm saving now for the tank. Got more realistic costs of electric according to you guys. I think water is also like .01 per gallon. I can definetly do the monthly fees. Starting to collect the materials as well. Just started to realize how much respect on top of knowledge I can get from this build! Also need a custom tank for this area. Sorry for anyone who doesn't think I should build a tank. But the other good deals on CL are sold. So this is my choice. I can definetly do it with help.

Man if my energy costs was 97 cents the energy bill would cost 10 times more then $300 per month during winter....Also take note that my city's energy is on a tier 2 system meaning first 1350 kw I use costs $0.067 for the 1st month then anything after that is $0.097 per kwh. We pay one of the cheapest rates for electricity in Canada. I just googled new york/new jersey area energy costs is $0.186 which is 18.6 cents per kwh as of April 2012. That's double the cost of my city's energy. Sorry if I scared u with these numbers.

It's not the construction aspect that worries us. It's the finish work. Does your family know anyone that has had experience with industrial coating? A box is easy to build. A box that holds 500 gallons and will never leak is another story.

From most threads, stories, videos, notes I read on plywood tanks, they all say that the material they used (some type of rubber coating) is just Luke paint. Thus needs no experience to use other than painting skills. Which I'm very good at. I'll try to find the name of the coating
