Had the family over today for a little get-together, and showed them the fish room. That included my two cousins, both 8 years old. They thought that it would be funny to un-plug the filter on the Centipede Knife and Glass Knife tank. Haha, it wasn't funny. Didn't find out until it was too late. Not enough current in the tank or oxygen, and it was too much for the Centipede. Also lost a few feeders, but that isn't a big deal, lol. Went and bought an Air Pump just as a back-up, just in case.
Next time I will be keeping a VERY close eye on the two demons next they are over, lol.

Thats sucks man i feel for you. Yesterday at our christmas one of my cousins chucked a pool ball across the basement and missed my 75 by inches.

Yea, after trying a 2nd time with this Knife, I still fail. And I'll probably try again if I get the chance, lol. Still a bit pissed, but I had a friend call me over to pick up a few fish. He was trying to get rid of a few things, so now I'm not as mad, lol. Feel like an ass for making the two cry once I went to investigate on who did what. But they had it coming.

Lol happens to me too, not with the unplugging but whenever we get family gatherings. All the little 3-8 year olds will always be touching the glass of my tanks! And dumping tons of precious food in my water....It hasn't been bad within these years but yeah...I still get mad...

Having the other side of the family over tomorrow, and I just got a 55-Gallon stand for the 60-Gallon, and it is very easy to push over. Have to move it to a different spot in the room away from the window so I can brace it in a bit on the wall. It would be a pity to have it fall on my other cousin... She will be over and she is also 8 if I'm correct, and not only that, but a 2 year old will be with her, but I've never met her. She is absolutely insane, and rude. But then again, her mother didn't make the best decisions when she was pregnant with her... Out of my entire family, she is the one to keep a close eye on at anytime or anywhere, lol. And I maybe twice her size, but she scares me, lol.
Now I know what to watch for.

I'm sorry for your loss, I have found out years ago that any plugs or hoses that the little rug rats can get a hold of will be pulled on. So all wiring is hidden and hoses secured. And as for the sump on the big tank, there is always my Akita there laying in front of the doors to prevent little hands from wandering over.

As a parent, if my kids did anything like that, I would cover the cost of the fish. I would hope that every parent would have the decency to do the same.

Yea, it was pretty much just a scolding by the parents, and they said nothing else. Just walked out. That's my family for you, lol.
