Get some METRO by Seachem. Best stuff IMO for treating internal parasites. Take the carbon out of your filters before you treat.

No, with GT's it's not always an internal parasite. I tried that with mine and failed. According to the only person I've ever seen bring one around, it's bacterial buildup in their digestive tract. He cured the GT with some kind of antibiotic.

I've had this problem with GTs and Jacks. The best way I've come up with to cure this problem is not with your typical meds alone. Sure, use the meds, but also you can use a garlic extract (Garlic Extreme). Garlic is a natural parasite killer. Soak what ever food you are going to put in the tank in a diluted solution of garlic and water then feed. I understand at this point they are not eating. For your GT, that started eating, I would treat anything he does manage to get done with the garlic. This will help get rid of any internals he may have left in his system. For the other fish You may have been able to cut off their infestation by pretreatment. In the past, for fish I new would not eat, I mixed a lite solution of water and garlic extract (very lite on the garlic). I caught the fish and while using a syringe fed a little bit of that solution. It worked well. I agree with the Med treatment that has been suggested as well but try this to supplement.
Given that you have a few fish that are prone to internal parasites, after everyone is healthy, you may want to think about the garlic method as a once every 3 month precaution. Thats what I do and I haven't had problems since. Just soak the pellets and feed.

Just my $0.02, GL, hope they heal quickly. And, don't give up on the CA/SA just yet. They are awesome!

I dont think a bacterial build-up is contagious. Unless theres bacteria in my tank im unaware of. I cant do a back to back medical treatment again, Ive done this befor killing almost everything in my tank including the B bacteria, snails, fish, and loaches. If its bacteria ill worry about that later. Gt was my first Ca fish, but its too annoying. If I cant get my carpintis and cyano to eat im getting rid of all these fish.
Next step: SeaChem Metro, Feed bloodworms soaked in garlic water. That will be the deciding factor. Ive spent too much money.
RBP's have never annoyed me, So i think i may go back to piranha if i cant straighten this out.

Goodluck, GT's are always problems, used to be my fav fish. I lost 3 or 4 to white poo. I got a nice male about 8 inches but hes weird. One week he will be good, the next week he wont eat or anything. And it goes like this, on and off. He is in a 130g tank by himself.

Yeah i have noticed that GT's suck at living in general. People get GTs thinking they are easy to care for only to have them die off at around 3-4in. due to intestinal problems.
Today i minced some garlic, soaked bloodworms and pellets and fed. I also just through some garlic in to contaminate the water a little bit, since the gt wont eat anyway. Maybee it will somehow work its way into her system. If her immune systems boosts and she gets an appetite i think she will get over this problem.
That garlic sketched the JD out a little and made Vieja go NUTTTTS swimming all over the place rapidly. weird fish. Seemed to have boosted Cyano's appetite and i just fed like 30min ago. Im just going to go from here dosing all food with garlic. If the GT dies, oh well. Ive tried alot and im pretty sure if GT's arnt fed garlic and have beast immune systems they will end up with white sting poop and not eat.
Glad to see cyano eat, now if carpentis eats tmrw i will be thrilled. If GT eats tmrw i may do a backflip :D

Garlic creates an interanal gasious enviorment that some parasites like tapeworm find intolerable - it is a preventative measure not a cure infact most hikari pellets contain garlic. If you haven't used prazziquantel - the active ingredient that actually kills the parasite then either metro, jungle parasite clear,or prazzi pro would be my next move. API General dosen't have the same prazzi content it's more for smaller new fish IMO.
Prazzi however will not kil the Eggs. A thourgh cleaning is needed as well as new media and a ton of water changes - when one fish gets infected they all can get infected and Internal parasites are a real bastard - a lot of work to rid the tank.

Ok after going to 3 pet stores i finally found a product that contains Metronidazole. also praziquantel and flubenol.
Directions say add 5 drops per fish twice a day.....? Does anybody have a accurate dose of metronidazole .30%? praz .0057% and flub .03%
This isnt medicated food, Its called gel-tek ultra cure px
How many drops would equal a dose? 30% wc tomorrow and redose for 3 days?
Tank is 90gal and i have smaller 5 fish.
