Dark Side Progression...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I saw my Anemone went under the rock and stay there, I probably need to re-arrange my rock works after work today to get it out, if it doesn't know how to get out of its own....
I know nothing about SW, but if I were an anemone and someone put in a light that was to bright for me, I would hide under a rock, too. Maybe your new light is too strong?

This Anemone required strong/high output light, they are thrive with high output light setup. Sometime they just let the flow drip them to new location and sometime they get stuck in that process :) or they pedal (sticky foot) getting weak (dying) and could not hold on to the location.

*If you like reading then search for Sebae Anemone Information, they are cool to read even if you don't want to keep them :)

I went home and the Anemone anchored itself on a rock upside down and wide open, I re-arrange my rock and turn it right up, I also adjusted my water flow to give it moderate flow (more like a gentle flow) movement and not so high flow like before, it doesn't try to move anywhere yet, I hoping it stay there for longer so it can recovery much better rather than stress and move around and might die while doing that. Its also ate a piece of squid so it's a good sight. While I redo my rock work I transfer the zebra eel to holding tank cause in long run this zebra will tax heavy on my tank bio load so I'll take it back to LFS this weekend. I just did 10% water change and everything look great.
Anemone 1.jpg I love this light system everything look so awesome and that clown fish never leave its Anemone buddy side :)

I thought you set up the tank for the eel?

Yes, I was setup the tank for the eel then I got into Anemone thing and it's interested me so I decided to keep it, when it settle down I would move forward with other inverts and corals.
I can say I knew a lot about eel so they are easy for me to care or create environment to fit their needs, it's no challenge to keep an eel for me. Anyway, I was said in JWH thread about having a reef tank, I'll take this change and work my way for a simple invert/corals tank :)

I woke up this morning and found my Anemone moved to a new location again :)
At least the new location was near the original location I first place it in my tank and enjoying full flow from my circulation power head and it was open biggest I ever seen in last few days, the diameter close to 5 inches now I was wow when I saw it in that position. I didn't take any pictures cause the light was off schedule and I don't want to turn it on and messing them up, this location chose by it own will, so I hope it will stay there for good. If it still there by the time I got home and wide open I'll take a picture :)
*Side note about my light schedule, my fish stopped jumping and act crazy when the light out last night, they are actually went to sleep rather jumping around the first night with the new light system.

Yeah, I can easily do that.
I just want see how the preset program work, I'll let it run for few more night and see if my fish get used with the new light cycle. These light have a lot of LED (72/72 of blue/artinic/full spectrum LED) so even moonlight up it's still very bright and running at 10% density.

Thanks.
The clownfish hapy with it Anemone buddy, the shrimps walk around scavenging on rocks to find food, the most active fish is the diamond goby, its making sand dune in my tank and decorating its house/hole area with pebbles (nature pebble rocks that I left in tank from previous freshwater setup LOL) and VERY territory, it will chase anyone that enter it LAND, in this case are the shrimps, sometime the shrimp just want to give the goby a massage but it refuse with the violent threading pose (its territory seem small just around its hole its peace out and don't bother anyone in other area) , I laugh hard very time i see that.

Typical Goby behavior had a Jaw fish that was territorial about his burrow lol.

I'm reading/researching how to keep copepods, or built a colony of copepods in my tank within the rocks and then getting a Mandarin Goby, this fish is 1 of the fish I always wanted to keep but I didn't get them in many years due to the lack of right environment to keep them happy and alive in captive.
