Dark Side Progression...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oh, I forgot about a new addition to my tank, here it's picture!
Carpet.jpg
Metalic Green Carpet (Stichodactyla Haddoni), look like it's settling in nicely too! :)
The Goby jumped out of my tank this morning so I put it in holding tank since I was thought to remove it before it become food for this carpet in near future. Last night, my cleaner shrimp almost become food for this carpet, lucky for the shrimp! It used it antenna investigated the carpet and got stuck cause the extreme stickiness of the carpet tentacles, the shrimp lost a part of its antenna but got away with it life.

Well, the time has come! My Sabae finally gave up this world. It's started floating around and its mouth opened, I netted it out and it had a funky smell, for safety caution of other live stocks I just tossed it out (When a Anemone died it will create ton of ammonia and might release toxic chemical into water). It's sad I couldn't save it but at least in other hand I learned how to look and choose a healthy Anemone and quite know how to identify most of Anemones for sale in LFS around my area.

Pretty much after 2 weeks into these Anemone world, I asked myself why didn't I setup something like this years ago instead keep going with solo predator species tank lol. I keep looking as them along with some Asian bamboo flute tradition music on...I'm in my fish world of relaxing LOL. Seriously, they are a lot more interest to look at than some meany fishes OR I'm tired of them after many years? hehehe. I also figured out a trick to make my Anemone stay at the spot on a same rock work I wanted :). Might be the intensive researching and learning these species helped me understand them well enough to counter their own behavior! Might be I was a A++ student in psychology class back in college helping me too "I can read your mind" hahaha...Enough joking right? :P

Does it look cute? Sure, it does :P
The only thing I'm concern that Do I have enough light or too much light on them? I'm asking some reefers in other saltwater reef base forum and wait for them to response. :)

HAHAHA I'm not master but using common senses :)
What's the important part in a Anemone? It's the pedal/foot.
So in order to protect and feel secure its need to hide it pedal away from predators, with that in mind I chose a rock with hole, crevices deep enough for it to place it foot in there, of course it will try to make comfy in its new home so I will need to rotate the rock if needed for a better view but it won't move around anymore. They need water flow but not direct at it so playing with the power head placement until I got everything perfect and got water circle entire tank from top to bottom without annoy it.

Oh, here is mine silent monster, look nice but deadly to anything that touch it except certain clown fish species, shrimps, crabs that use it as a host!

*On side note: look like I need to get another light set for my Anemones, the new one I just bought just meet the low end of anemones requirement.

These Anemones are Bio Load Factory :P
I'm doing 3x 10% WC a week and I just tested my water and Nitrate almost reach to 20 ppm...
I'm gonna start carbon dosing on this tank to eliminate it.

There have been a few denitrification threads on here lately. If you make a thread about your carbon dosing, it will be appreciated.
