I don't blame you but I've never heard of Melafix having that kind of effect.How did you come to that conclusion?
 
I fist heard of it starving oxygen at the lfs, so I went to aquarium wikki and searched melafix. Under what problems it can cause it states " some bacteria use the oil as food causing a bacteria bloom that can cause water clouding and remove oxygen from the water".

Well it's day 7 of the parasite treatment, had a bit of improvement. I did get the bacterial infection under control, his jaw is no longer red,and his color has come back a little. But he still is having trouble swimming and his breathing is still a bit labored. Thinking of quick cure as the next treatment.

Well it's day 2 of quick cure treatment, the AT has been stabilized a bit, his rapid breathing is gone, and the spots he had are slowly going away. All his tank mates are doing just fine. Hopefully this is it for what ever this has been. If one good thing came out of this besides his recovery, is how much I have learned about all the different parasite's, bacterial ,and fungal ailments fish can be susceptible to.

:D he made it!!!:D: he's back to his normal punk self. Did a big water change last night, fed em and this morning he was out picking on his tank mates as usual.
