Dat personality

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well you guys sure do make FT appealing.

My little guy read through the threads. Even asked if we were going to krichardsons house after dinner lmaooo.

Like father like son the whole IT, NTT and so on confused the crap out of him. He really likes them even though theres a chance we could strike out with personality. He likes the idea of trying to train it to hand feed from a young age. A buddy is gonna pick up a small indo for me some time this week.
That’s awesome. I can understand why he would want to try one out. I have been intrigued about them for a while now. I also want to go to kriches place to pick one out lol. I chalked it up to waiting until I’m done moving so I don’t need to train another fish until I’m ready to keep it long term. So I hope to get in the dat game next year. Look forward to following your progress with it.

Also the ft can most likely also go with the indo :naughty: just want to try and find one at least 6-8” so the polys don’t chomp it. Especially since it is a silver type fish lol.

Funny thing about it is the ST used to be as cheap as the other species years ago.

Is it a marketing thing ? We kind of see this with bichirs to an extent

Sort of,the SiameseTigers are said to be nearly extinct in the river they are found in.Over the years they have become harder and harder to come by and heavy demand for them has causes their prices to skyrocket.
I sold my last ST for nearly three grand a few years ago and the buyer travelled from a few states south of my location to come and get it.

take note about ITs, stable in 1 tank does not mean stable in another tank...

mine only colour up during feeding and water change.... rest of time black.... not sure if my tank decor makes a difference as it is black all around except for the front glass

Thai government has a total ban on exports now to try and revive the species, I'm not sure how successful their efforts have been. Also not sure if the ban covers domestic trading, but the point is rather moot as it would be very rare and expensive to find ST's even here too. Whatever you do though, don't get him a "STD" lol. Anyway maybe you can convince him NTT's are almost just as cool.
