Waste of a big money too. My fishes seem growing fast. Grown a half of inch by a week. Hope they would grow to a half of foot size in two months. :)

They will not grow fast

If you think you are going to make good money over night by growing any tiger think again

They are one of the slowest growing fish around

I got few Dats last August at the size of 1". It's 10 months and they have barely touched 4"-4.5". Out of the 5 only three have grown to sizes around these. The other two are 3" and below.
You get the idea here ;)

I got 4 @ 2" in January. I have 1 still 2 1/2" and 3 @ 4". Don't expect much. Old people shouldn't buy baby Dat's.

I have 2 small tigers 1 x NTT and one IT in my grow. Out tank

I'm going to sell them as it will take 4-5 years before they can go in the big tank

Hmm . Will see. You saw my two are only two inches now in pics. Lets see the progress in coming months. My two are too greedy to grow slowly. I haven't had datnoids before.

The people on here know what they're talking about. They will grow slow. They'll grow from 2"-6" within 6-8 months with clean water and a pellet diet. The growth will get real slow after 6"

What size tank are you growing them in? And what is their diet?

In a 360g up until now.... Just this week shifted them to a 190G. They will be shifted to an bigger tank soon. Their diet consist of Massivore, shrimps, tilapia, some kinda smelt, all types of pellets sticks, Cichlid gold and chicken hearts as well. I keep it varied.

Alot of people sell them as after a several months or one year.. they realise they are SLOW growers. Even the exceptional occasional fast growing one is still slow compared to other monster fish out there.
