Datnoids, are they all wild caught?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I tend to agree with T1k once again. If they are breeding them to reintroduce to the wild then I am sure they would sahre there findings on breeding behavior so others could help, if they are breeding them, there purpose is $$$$$ and that is it.

We have in this thread 2-3 ppl saying they are breeding tigers, that is FAR from proof.

OCean Blue -

You says that they are illegal to export out of tailand, as far as i know the only tiger illegal to export is the ST, all others are fair game, are you saying they are only breeding ST, or were you only referring to them when you were making your statment.

Also you say they are cheaper now. - Maybe for you but in NJ the price keeps going up.

LOK - Thin bars are beeing bread to eat? If they are THAT successful with breeding programs why are they hard to find here. There are not as rare as a wide bar, but no LFS can get them on a reg bases here. (that I know of)

ALSO is anyone going to say ANYTHING about the cross breeding, and breeding for a certain look claims LOK made? Or should I assume that was just all bull?

Somebody please tell me this isnt going to be a "all captive tigs die in 3 months" or whatever the hell it was thread :nilly:

TCZeli + T1Karmann,

no proof will be given as it is a business over here, for alot of other tigs except for ST or widebars, they are not in such a high demand here therfore abundant.

as for captive breeding, i'm not stupid so you don't have to bring in the panda example. i use to work in the commercial agri business. the adults are not wild caught; they are lended, rented or donated by people like me and others in Thailand, which have a true love for them, like me and others, we had them since 1"-2" in tanks or ponds and some were even handed done from father to son. we had them for at least five years and up. they are the wild caught generation but now they are mostly in captive breeding.

go check some books instead of making me prove, not all dats live in the same environment, NTT's live in sunken forests and basins, ST plchers originate from only two basins in Thailand, therefore the way how they grow is different. Indo, NTT and ST widebars grow at a very different rate in a suitable environment and full food, with almost 50% difference, try rearing a double band and a widebar, then you'll see. no bull, but i have tried it. ST's are very hard to breed and thats all i am going to say.

and one more thing, ST's are in very high demand in Korea and japan, these guys used to even fly over here to purchase them. so thats why you won't see much of ST's going to the western part of the world. those guys in the east are crazy about them, maybe even more than arowanas, that why they made books and even try to breed them themselves, which i have to say there is already some success, so you should start studying japanese if you want to know more.

about the cross breeding claim, i've got a shoal of them in my friends tank, one side that looks like a ST widebar, and the other side like and indo with a double band and full necklace, about 2.5"-3", 20$ a piece, you pay for the shipping, HOW MANY DO YOU WANT? my friend just sold 800 of these 2"ers last week to China. so you want some?

i can get these out of the country no problem, even an ST widebar for people who really know their worth.

i guessed you never seen the world beyond your home and your workplace.

oh dear now i have hurd enought tigers that look like ST on one side and indo on the other are cross bred this type of tiger have been around for years they are still indos not hybrids

if a black man has a baby with a white girl they wont have a child that is white on one side and black on the other :screwy:

buy showing pictures of fry or eggs from ST wont give away all the secrets of breeding tigers all it will do is prove that it is being done

you see pictures of aro farms havesting their eggs all the time they are no scared of people taking over their profits they are just prowed to show what they are doing

all tigers are wild caught

T1Karmann,

best of luck in your conquest, you might meet that lucky person who can show you the pics one day.

anyone coming to Thailand who wish to see them or see the original widebars of all sizes and perfection, and anyone interested, contact me, i'll be happy to show you the real ones other than pictures. all proof is here in this country, know the right people and you get the answers you want.

just a leaving note to all dat lovers, all of them got their uniqueness, personality, habits, and needs all the loving care that it deserves as it is you who got it in the first place; whether you have a high standard on how they look or how exspensive they are. treat them well and in return you will get the best of them.

be proud that you have come across this species in this lifetime.

messytank,

your very lucky, the original basin of the extinct Thai Siamese Tiger is only around 60kms from Sukhothai, that basin is called BUNG BORAPETCH; the legend of the original ST. there's a small farm nearby involved in the breeding of ST's of cambodian descendants or the widebars we're seeing today, but unfortunately its open to insiders only. but its not the only one that i know of.

so i hope this info if useful to this board.

i have been keeping ST for 5yrs + and know that the indo on one side and 3 bars on the other are still indos they are not a hybrid

i have real ST myself and can ID most tigers easy

i can show you pics of my tigers it doesnt mean i am breeding them

i can show you pictures of my rays when they are preg and after the pups are born

you have shown us nothing why should we belive you

the 2nd picture is what i would call a real ST

The 1st picture is what i would call a CT or cambodian tiger
