I think increase availability of Dats is just the markets response to fish keeper demand. Agree with the statements about fads......add armatus and marble motoro to the list. I personally have always liked dats, although the majority of mine are unstable and hide alot- their is something about them. I call them my water puppies, you may have to own 3 or more to appreciate. I hope the next fad is leopoldi stingrays!

although i don't keep fish these days i've kept datnoids for years along with many other fishkeepers, they have been popular for a very long time and are not a fad.
