Dats

Are they kind of lying on their sides and dark on color? This is what they do when they want to but have no where to hide at.Dats are lurkers and ambush predators by nature so they basically have to be trained out of that mindset and some take longer than others.I have never really tried dithers but there are plenty of members who have had good results with them.

I had luck with Silver Dollars until they outgrew the Dats lol.

I found that if put in a tank that is fitting, in terms of size they will become more active and not as scared.
Had a 11 inch in my 6.5ft and he was active, 6 inch in 5 ft and he was active.
Now I have 5 dats ranging 5-9 inch in my big tank and they are all hiding

So you're saying they seemed more comfortable in a tighter space? That's interesting. My friend just moved 3 of his from a 150 to a 75, I'm gonna see if he notcies that too.

Well with the lights off they are active as any other fish but lights on they all stay still..

I have the regular tube light. But only using a marineland single bright 18" only... It's nice and dim but still nobody wants to move .. I'll guess I'll play the waiting game with them for a bit..
