What is wrong with people. Everyone hates the police and calls them evil right up to the point when they arrest a murderer, a rapist, a child molester, or help to pull you out of a flaming car accident. I do realize that there are bad examples of officers however most of them are out there every day willing to risk their lives in an attempt to save yours. I do not think that the officer did anything wrong. He showed his weapon in an attempt to gain control over a potentially dangerous situation involving a large crowd on a busy and obviously hazardous (snow) city street.
There was no need for him to gain control of anything. The crowd was not out of control, he was. What was he serving and protecting? A snowball fight does not require law enforcement. He was pissed because his truck was hit with a snowball and acted out of anger. I think he should be replaced by someone who can stay calm in a situation. His actions do nothing to build trust of law enforcement within a community.

Are you serious? You said it yourself "His car was hit by a snowball". You're absolutly right there is nothing unsafe about a snowball fight on a busy city street with bad driving conditions. Let alone passing cars being pelted by snow balls, that's not unsafe at all. I guess he sholud have just got out of his car and joined in. Or should he have just ignored it and then been sued for not interveining before they hit another already stressed and distracted driver and caused an accident.

It seems there are more cops being dicks then just trying to do there job. And trust me when i do meet a cop who deserves the respect they all should give he gets it and if he goes above and beyond by coming to my rescue or making me feel at ease even though hes giving me a inspection ticket or some other nonsense then i would be happy to go out of my way to let his chief know but i refuse to respect and give credit to ass holes like these that think that pulling a gun out gives them power. Ill play the devils advocate on this one... In the past people have died because snowball hits windshield family goes off road hits trees and die.Detective realizes this can cause traffic accident and feels need to do his job,gets out of car and slips gun falls out!( det have loose gun hulsters around shoulders unlike cops) he picks it up and has it in his hand as he comes around the truck. The person taking the video only gets half the story of him with gun in hand putting it away. this is how he shouldve covered his ass,but most likely just a hot head.
funny note! just typed in search..snowball causes car accidents and it seems to be a major problem top 10 list including cell phone,smoking,make up ,snow ball hitting car distracting driver or even causing damage.haha I never knew.
