Yea I looked it up but my tank doesn't have anywhere I can put a overhead sump. Only under is where I can do that.Overhead sump, meaning growbed/sump/tray placed over head tank(DIY KingYoutube channel has a DIY overhead sump tutorial). Your canister will lift water to growbed, which will gravity drain back down to tank. Bacopa, a genus of bog plants...
What do people do instead of these things!? I don't have time to really make one and also want to risk a leak. I'm so use to tanks being not so techincal ha. Least when I was a kid it was just a filter and its filter media. That's it haThat could work, might have to add lighting and pump. Also algae scrubbers might be a option
Yea I know I'm stocked heavy and I am trying to sell some of the fish. Or get rid of them. I'm going to do 25% water changes I think daily for a week to get that nitrite down as much as I can or 50%? And then start to do regular water changes 2x a week at 25%?You are stocked heavily. Your other option, chemical filtration like Purigen/zeolite etc.
What should my water be at? All levels....and I just did a water change and added prime to condition. I'll be adding a bio filter with a power head probably Friday to help also. Maybe some more air stones too? I have a 4 output unit now but idt it's enough oxygen for all the fish I have.Although watch your pH, if your water changes result in a lowering of pH, that's not good....
