Anybody know what can cause this???

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5-10
Temp: 82 F

Tank mates are 3x polys and 1x cichla

Was eating live blood worms. He was fine swimming around the tank last night, woke up this morning and a little bit of white film looked like it was coming off of its body, I added some aquarium salt to the sump. I go to work and come home to this 5 hours later :(

It looks super bloated and a lot more white film coming off of its body. It also has bumps all over his body kind of like a rash.

Positive, i checked it 3 times. Twice with the same kit and once with a friends kit.

Im thinking maybe a parasite from the live blood worms?

It looks like a chemical burn on the bottom i.e-high ammonia level or hemmoraging from something else.

Maybe the ph crashed causing a small ammonia spike which resolved itself before you tested

I would check the ph if it got too low it could have killed off BB

the bloating reminds me of what you would see in a person that has an allergic reaction to something. i don't even know if it's possible in a ray though?

sorry for the loss. the bottom looks like ammonia burn, but the bloating is odd.

IMHO all dead rays have pink bottom which people refers to amonia burn..
I had a few dead leos in the past, bottom was white when i found it in the morning , and 20 minutes later became pink/red.. Cause of death, other male aggression..
Amonia 0

I dont know about this one though, never seen anything like it, bloating, peeling...

I think if the ph crashed it would still be low but the remaining BB may have fixed the ammonia after the initial die off. That is why I thought to check the PH

Any chance any meds got into the tank or copper?
