DEADLIEST CATCH FANS! (3 Captains has left the show)

Today there was a terrible news, after 5 years of excitement from the Berin Sea, the Captains of Deadliest Catch (Sig Hansen of Northwestern and Jonathan and Andy Hillstrands Brothers of Time bandit are leaving season 6)

This decision was a direct result of a lawsuit from Discovery Channel to the Hillstrands Brothers for a failed tapping of a spin-off show that they were suppose to be signed on to do... The suit was $3 million dollars to the two Captains, which in terms of Crab boat fishermen, will result in layoff of their entire crew and selling their boat.

I know many of you on MFK are a big fan of the Deadliest Catch show, and I just want to express my disappointment at Discovery Channel.

The shows been on for 5 season, and Discovery has gotten numerous Emmy Awards for the show and made Millions off of this show.... It just sucks to see big Corporate Network like Discovery Channel threaten Reality TV stars to summit.. and now their best Captains on the show are leaving, not to mention follow the Death of Captain Phil Harris last season...

I was so stoked about season 6 and see how much changes or recovery these Captains and their lives will be like.. but we may never know now..

I'm not sure if theirs a boycott going around for the Deadliest catch show.. but there's been talks...

Theres also arguments from both sides saying the Captains of Time-Bandit failed on keeping up their contract and their decisions to bail was justifiable..

Anyone thinks this show will be canelled in the near future from poor ratings?

i think it'll be canceled because there's way way too many spin off or similar shows. That sword fish boat one for example

I actually dont know about the sword fish boat.. i know of the lobster boat off Boston.

But I do feel that the show wont do too well in Season 6, losing Captain Harris of Cornoella Marie was a huge.. now 3 more captains?!?!? they were the backbone of the show.. The official Discovery Channel title uses the Time Bandit as their Logo..

I think Discovery Channel is getting a bit greedy this time...

I am sure they could find a way to make it work without all of them but they were the shows stars... It will never be the same. Even with just the loss of Capt. Phil it won't be the same.

I had no idea they had one for sword fish.... ya.. It seems all big corporate shows care about is how to expand on their rating.. draw in money. Loyalty doesn't exist anymore.
