  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Im very sorry to hear this. You did give him a way better life then most pacu get. You did a good thing saving him from dying a couple different times.

R.I.P Taco.

Atleast he took this year with a bang.

just barely makes 21". was quite sad to have to bury the poor guy. He's got a nice spot in the yard, where a little tree or plant will go over him come spring time.

Sorry for your loss. I had a really tough loss in the past few days, so I feel for you.
People don't see how connected a fishkeeper gets to his fish... the line between a fish and a furry land pet is a very fine one indeed.

Sounds like he was a great fish. I'm sure he was happy; sounds like he had a helluvah better life than he would've if it hadn't been for you.

that is exactly why i posted this on MFK. Only the people here would understand how someone else feels losing a beloved fish.

To us, our fish are like dogs or cats are to an average pet owner. I got just as upset over my favorite fish, as i have my dogs or cats, and i know im not alone on this.

Sorry for your loss but you did save him from what appeared to be a life of hell in that unheated tank. So not only did he live a much longer life but also a much happier one. Hope that thought can ease your pain just a little.

Yeah, look at the bright side. He was a happy fish in a big tank for years!
You should feel good because he got to live a life where he wasn't cramped in a tiny tank.
