How do you guys feel about keeping fish and doing everything you can to keep them safe, healthy, etc, and then fishing them out of the water (hooks? nets?) it's like the moral schizophrenia about loving dogs, eating pigs, wearing cows, etc.

I love it!

I keep cichlids AND go fishing in the ocean, catch flounder, trout, red drum, mahi, grouper etc...take them home and eat them. YUM!

I also love my dogs AND eating steak, pork, fish, venison etc.

EVERYthing you have used today, slept in, slept on, cleaned with, eaten etc has some form of animal by product...so there is no "moral schizophrenia" about it. You cannot escape animal by products unless you live in a cave and use leaves for clothing and trees for fire, but then look out for the wacko tree people if you do that.

Dont think that because you dont eat burgers/steak/chicken/fish that you dont contribute to the slaughter of animals for food/ products.

This hoplo is monstrous - Is it true that these are the same type that are invasive in Florida? thanks for sharing all the pics - very impressive.

I doubt this is the species you found in Florida, it most likely has never been imported as Felipe only ships cichlids, I caught this one and a similar one two yeas ago and they are the ony ones I have ever seen. Ken
