ive been using api stress coat for about 6 months and came across a forum with people saying that api stress coat isnt that good (does not totally eliminate chlorines/chloramines) and that seachem prime is much better. is there anyone that could help me out on this subject?
I cant help you out scientifically. But I have used both and both are good. However, the biggest thing for me is cost. Prime is a LOT cheaper for the same result.
I use prime, I love it, its very useful when cycling a tank with fish in it. It nuetralizes ammonia. Plus Prime is mucj cheaper. I buy the 2 and 4 liter bottles
I am a stress coat user that is slowly switching over just because of cost.
Prime is much cheaper. I do not notice a difference when I use Prime or Stress Coat as a dechlorinator which is excellent. So I do use both, but Prime is just so much cheaper that I have to make the switch. I have been using Stress Coat for over a decade.
i use stress coat and i have this whipsy white algae growing in my tank and i read that its from the potassium thats in stress coat (prolly the aloe vera). i think once i run out of it i'll start using Safe dry powder.
