So, this summer I'm most likely getting a 180 gallon tank after waiting forever.:headbang2

I'm trying to decide wich aro to go with. Silver, or Jardini?

I like the silver aro's because they're compatible with tankmates most of the time, wich is good because I'd like to get a gar or two. But it will most likely outgrow my tank within a year or two.

Now, the Jardini will most likely be able to live in the tank for its whole life, but will most likely not tolerate tankmates.

It's really hard choosing wich one to go with.
Beautiful fish with tankmates that I'll have to get rid of once it gets too big.
Or beautiful fish by itself I can keep forever.

WWMFKD?
(What would MFK do?)

hehe whatever u chose it will be the right choice.i perosnaly have a baby jar right now in a 120 and hes great.gl on ur decesion

I'm of the impression that a 180 will not be big enough for a grown silver, so unless you're prepared to go to a 300 eventually, go with the jar.

Get the Leichardti or Jar....

I would tjink a 180g would be to small for a 30" jardini. I think your best bet would be getting a black aro. They grow slower so you would be able to keep it longer then the silver.Once you get a bigger tank great, if not selling the black aro would be easier and more profitable.

Actually...
Thats a great Idea!
I love black aro's! A place about 3 hours away gets 10'' for $150.

I'd love to get a Lei, but they're just crazy expensive.
Wonder what I'm going to keep with the black, Gars are nice, but I want something that doesn't take too much attention away from the aro as it will be the showpiece.
I'm thinking maybe some long-finned O's or possibly two sunshine O's?

Actually, I think I might do say, 4-5 ropefish.
Or maybe one or two big endlicheri.

silver aro is alot nicer looking... i would get a silver over a jar anyday.... but if you can find one a black aro would be alot better...
