So aside from some other thing that might be suggested, I have a empty 90 that i was thinking of getting a Fahaka Puffer for, but then again i keep hearing how people love their Poly's. I just cannot decide. My tank is in the main living room with my bigscreen an I wanted kind of an active fish. What's everyone thoughts on this?

You will be much happier with a puffer. I don't know anything about fahakas, but puffers in general are on par with Oscars as wet pets.

I have thought about the africans, but just not a huge fan. I was thinking the puffer from the research i have been doing and hearing about their "personalities" being alot like the forementioned Oscars. Just cannot see anything but one Fahaka going in there due to their nature.

I was considering getting a fahaka for a long time a few months ago, but just put off setting up the tank and never got around to it. Fahaka puffers need a 120g minimum with a lot of filtration. They produce a lot of waste and are messy eaters. I would personally just put the fahaka in the tank its going to live in for life. Because it would be a pita trying to move a 12" puffer out of a 90g that can't be exposed to air.

Here is a good basic page with information on them...http://www.**************.com/forum/ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Freshwater/T_Lineatus/
The members the are rude though and think they're always right because they're self-proclaimed experts... at least in my experience there...

with nothing else, not even decor, I really do not see the over filtered tank I have being a problem.

Most fahakas will get 15-16" it'll be pretty cramped in your 90g. You really want enough space for them to comfortably turn around.

It was sold to me as a 90, but I know it is larger, the foot print on the tank is VERY wide 24 inches I believe. If push came to shove I would get another tank for him, but I really do not see it being a problem. i have personally even on this website, see people with tanks ALOT more cramped. Not to be rude by any means though, I do value your input and concerns. :)

You can type in the dimensions of your tank in the volume calculator. I don't whether it gives US or Imperial gallons, though.
