Deer Season Opening day

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Last weekend was opening for us, we went out and hunted fri, sat, sun, there were hardly any deer. Only saw a few, with 5 guys total. I ended up shooting a natural 4 point (really a 3 because one was broke off from an earlier fight), small rack, but weighed out at 125. Not complaining though, if the Lord drops a deer in fron of me, and wants to fill up my freezer, I'm taking it! I'll see if I can get the picks up.

why don't you guys hunt on private property? If I were you guys, I'd go make friends with some farmers so they'll let you hunt on their property. :D

I hate public hunting so much. Thankfully I have 8 private hunting lands i can go. And thank god I can ruin other people's hunting by went deer drive on public area. Sometimes some people can steal your deer and claimed they shot this buck, just like someone tried claimed my cousin's 9 point buck from sucessful deer drive on the public land but eventually one guy quickly give up his claim as its no use if one guy against 15 members. He was so mad and swearing at us.

I had to hunt State land this year, because the land that we leased the past few years (and took 7 deer out opening day last year), was sold to another farmer, very late in the season, and left us kind of out in the cold. So, we did research and found out where some good, low populated State land was, and gave it a shot. We made friends with the farmers around (who let us camp out on their lawn :)) and the people who hunt on the private land directly next to the State land (who happened to be State Troopers). So, all in all, the State land experience was "ok", but really not great.

Yea, it sucks when you dont have any land to hunt. Even if you owned 5 or 20 acres are way better than public land.
