Delhezi Bichir Tank Mates..

I have a 6 in long bichir and was wondering what would be a good long term tank mate, the tank is 55 gal, and I am going to switch to sand soon.

I have 3 platy (who knows for how long..)

And 3 opal gourami..

One weird pleco..

Yea I did lol sorry. I have to find a place that has them.. My fish shop only has the delhezi right now..

And I refuse to buy fish from petco or petsmart.. they always have something wrong with them and die.

As for the pleco, I had one who was overly aggressive towards the bichir and no matter what I tried he would always attack her and chase her around, so I traded him for a new one at my fish shop.
He is only 3 inches and hasnt showed any interest in the bichir at all, and is much more mellow than the one I had before.
 
get another bichir (1 or 2 more if you have a tank 55 gal or up). get one of the smaller specis with ur delhezi such as the senegulas, palmas, another delhezi, albino, moke... if you have a 100 (120 recommended) you can get the more monstous specis such as the ornate, endlicheri. Make sure they are about the same size though. the bigger specis polys can get a bit aggresive as the get older. You'll need alot of hiding spaces! Good luck.

LOL. Lucky! your store only has delhezis? I just got my delhezi here in Canada a few days ago! They are so rare here! Waited 5 months to get one!;)

I want to get a very large tank soon after I sell my condo.. I have my eye on a 750 gal :D

They dont care what sex the other tank mate is do they? I want to get another delhezi.. Or if I find something similar I would love to get it!

I saw someone selling two 14" ornates online !! But they are to big for the space I have right now.

Wow that is crazy, they have a whole tank full of 5-6inchers lol
I am going to ask them next time I am there when they will be getting something else in :) They usually email me with new stuff
