Got the upper reciever and parts assembled and placed on the rifle.

I got my free float and gas block over the weekend and am now just waiting on my barrel! Will update again with the completed rifle in a week or two!

Look'n good - wish assault rifles were legal in California still - I managed expert in the Army with 'nades and the M-16A4 as well

It's coming along nicely! You can definitely save some money by building one yourself as opposed to buying a complete rifle. And AR's are so easy to customize thanks to all the aftermarket parts they make. I'm still working on my M4 and I've changed the configuration a number of times. I really need to save up and buy an EoTech or Aimpoint red dot for it. Here's what it looks like for now.

Thanks! Yours looks great too! I think I'm going to go with an Eotech on mine, but I need my barrel first! They are definitely one of the easiest guns to customize...the possibilities are endless!
