I found a monster tank outside of Chicago for sale, it is 6 feet tall by 8ft wide and 4 ft deep with 2 cropped corners. The center viewing acrylic is 5 ft wide x 6 ft tall. Hope that makes sense. Would that be too deep for rays? 1,100 gallons would really tie the room together.

I'm not sure why it would be too deep, rays in the wild live happily in depths of dozens of meters or more. It's mostly the footprint that matters.

I saw somebody post about depth issues with newborn pups and tried to think of a tank I have seen with rays deeper than 4ft. Off chance it would be an issue but thought it was worth bringing up. Referring to freshwater rays if that helps. Found it on Chicago Craigslist. Not sure if its cool to post a Craigslist link.

I'll blame luck for noticing it was closer to 3 feet. :)
Awesome tank, but probably not ideal for rays.

I was thinking maybe it would be perfect for something more like a paludarium type setup, then I noticed that tank has a line at about the halfway mark. Maybe the previous owner had the same idea.
