OMG Mini! Tell me about it! I used to have 6 tanks, 5 dogs, 6 goats, a horse, a potbellied pig, ducks/chickens, iguanas, and a tarantula all at once! That was a long time ago. I sold all my tanks, all but 1 of my fish died, I sold him, and for the longest time just had bettas. Then I got 2 rabbits, then guppies, then turtles, and cats. Now we have a ck, 2 turtles, 7 feeder goldfish that the turtle can't catch, 2 rabbits, 2 cats, fancy guppies, and common guppies that refuse to die, 4 bettas, 3 cories, and 3 dojo loaches that I'm growing out for my 55. It's hard to add tanks after kids, I usually stumble across my fish. lol

I won't get "bored" with any of my fish. I have always been extremely fond of all types of animals. Ever since I was little. I gurantee I won't get "bored" with the fish hobby. I find fish to be one of the most intriguing living animals out there! Great to keep and to watch <br />

Haha, ya, just more fish stuff! I been trying to catch my trophy fish to hang on my wall. My dad told me at the beginning of the summer, "boy, you ain't a fisherman till you can hang a fish on the wall bigger than mine!" Pissed me off so I decided I was going to do it to show him he don't have the skill I do! I decided I wanted to stuff a giant 60" tiger muskie(if I can find one) and give home the finger! Turns out, this summer is off limits cause they planted 500,000 fingerings and don't want to leave bigger predators the food if the muskie get taken. So ruined my summer.
He has a 40" brown trout on his wall the he caught on a worm and a simple hook with 8lb test out of the Weber river. Tommorow I'm going there with a friend to try and top his "score"!
I thought I did yesterday with a fish I caught; dragged my line up and down the river and bent my pole till I heard it crackling, turns out to be a 28" f*$%%+g river sucker fish, fowl hooked in the head. I was screaming outloud cause I thought I caught monster fish record out of the Ogden river and was going to flaunt it to the world!! Puking on myself, I left thinking, dang, what if that was the dream fish of a true fisherman. I had to walk to the fishcause it was so heavy that couldn't real in my pole without something breaking. So addicted to fishing is what I am right now, but every night I getup close and personal with my fishtanks! Those are the truemonsters! dad dont have what I have hahah

And +2, I actually am a boggiest by nature with animals. I have a nice collection of snakes, and soon as I found the fish I wanted; my spark of sanity arrows to the test! I truely enjoy keeping critters. Next on that list, but not soon on that list is to keep a lynx as a pet from a kitten. I love those cats! And next is a pair of sugar gliders when I have a house with a full room I can give them on top of my soon to be 15 ft boa! Its all expensive and my wife hates it hahaha!

Andrew I think honestly the fish hobby is not for you. I have been in this hobby since I was a kid and just enjoy it. You seem to have so many promblems on what? where? how and why? I use the hobby to reduce stress not create it like you do. Just saying there are other hobbies out there.

. Next on that list, but not soon on that list is to keep a lynx as a pet from a kitten. I love those cats!

Hey folks, thanks for the pep talk. You're right, there are ways to ease the amount the work put into the tanks. I am definitely VERY open to having my cake and eating it too, so keep those ideas coming! Maybe I'll double check the forums to see if there are any family/hobby/work balancing threads out there, or maybe make my own. I don't wanna further derail this thread.

I too thought he was building a large tank... good thing he didnt.

my tanks r my stress release. bad day? stare at tank

Thats quite true for me too... Bad day with annoying clients, feed fish and image food is annoying clients being chomped on by my fahaka...
