Did I do the right thing?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you keep saying you haven't thought about it but every sentence i have read of yours your full of thought... you have a year at least for this guy to grow ..if after a year or so things change find a home for him on MFK..stop worrying and enjoy him.... and of course you did the right thing.. :grinno:[/quote]

Haha yay you picked up on the subtle sarcasm! I am glad someone did, make sme feel a lot better.

Yeah my g/f said that. I might as well enjoy him for as long as I can and when the time comes, find the proper home for it by either giving it to someone with a bigger tank or buying a bigger one myself.

I really do enjoy this fish though. I want to have a 3000 gallon pond when I grow up and grow these guys out and let them live in there, maybe even breed. That would be very fulfilling.

I will always consider the animals best interest though. Thank you RedDevil!

Idk im split on this one. He couldn't provide in a 55 but then again niether can you in a 125.
I think you gave it a better life for longer than he would have been able to do so, but by doing so, you just enabled the store to place another order for more, of which alot of those I am guessing will fall in the hands of just more unresponsible keepers like the guy with the 55 that you mentioned...

Yes by buying it I enabled the store to buy another, but by not buying, the other man with the 55 would have enabled the store to buy another.

Either way they will buy more. Arowanas are always getting sold to people with 55's, its probably every week. It sucks, but around here I see the customers that come in and want these huge fish for 10 gallon tanks. They think that the fish will be stunted into the tank. What I don't understand is how its legal for this though. I mean you should be required by law to give the fish an adequate home instead of sprinting to bringing the fish to extinction. The entire system is flawed, but I don't think its going to change anytime soon.
