More believeable if you DIDN"T work at PEtsmart :(

I don't normally respond to stuff like that, but I found that a bit offensive. Just because Petsmart hires a bunch of dumb teenagers, don't lump me with them. While I am 19, I pride myself with a fair amount of cichlid knowledge, as well as a dedication to learning and educating my fellow associates and customers.

I work at Petsmart because, first, I make a ton of money, and second, I've been there long enough to have seniority and have the managers listen to whatever I tell them in regard to pet care.

Where I work has nothing to do with my knowledge of fish. My love of animals led me to work at a petstore, and my education comes from years of being a nerd and reading anything I could get my hands on. Now in college I am a wildlife science major and I also just finished a senior/graduate level icthyology course, as a freshman, as an elective. So please, insult Petsmart for all I care, but not me.

Then you have fantastic vision.............

I also happen to have a buddy who works at the petsmart in gurnee, Il. Based on the pic, he said he can't tell, the tanks are filled with Uros, Midas/RD, whaever hybrid they get, again based of THAT picture, if you can tell.........

Well you just are better than me.....

:D

He may be right, I may be wrong. I'm just saying in my experience, that looks like the rds/midas I have received weekly for the past 3 years :)

There is no way to tell from that picture. If you want a real ID post a good pic. I don't see enough evidence to say either way and neither does anyone else.

Did you read the previous posts? The guy knows what his fish is.:screwy:

Your knowledge or skill is not what I question, what I question is the ability to ID based on a very fuzzy image. I understand what you have been receiving at the store, I also have very good insight to what the stores in this area have also recevied.

We both may be right......who can really tell from that image....that is my point.

:D

Yes he says that is what it is.......the issue was ID based on the poor image.

Carpediem and I both have the same point, the question was based on the image.

Can you understand that??? :screwy:

I see that he has ID'd his fish, I'm just making a point. I hate to see people guess at an ID and then post it like it's fact. It's not doing anyone any favors.

ID threads on this page crack me up. You get a few people who throw their hat in the ring with a wild guess (but they don't say it's a wild guess), then Joe Hybrid shows up (he's on EVERY ID thread), then hopefully a few people trickle in with some intelligent responses, then a debate ensues, and finally the person IDs the fish themselves using both good and bad information provided and never posts on this forum again so nobody ever finds out what the fish really was.

Wow... That was a really long sentence.
