Also i think GE silicone #1 is what you want, likel you suspected. I think its #2 that has additives for fighting mold. Either way you want the one thats pure silicone with no additives on the chance they leach into your water
The pressure of the.glass comes from the weight of the water pushing against it. The force of water pushing against it depends on the height of the water column above that since water below that doesnt push up.
Anyhow thats why height matters. Obviously width and length play a big part since the longer they are the more glass will flex unless you have supports along the way

Second thought yeah it decreases as length gets larger. So yeah its just rated more then 2x the rated capacity.
