I'm building a windowless plywood tank for my turtle. The dimensions are 8ft x 3ft x 4ft and bought 45 mil EPDM pond liner for the waterproofing. Started to put the liner in today and as I was trying to smooth it out, I noticed the narrow sides were very wrinkled. That's when it hit me. The 4ft that the liner goes up the narrow, 3ft end still wants to be 11ft wide. I don't see any way I could possibly get the narrow sides and corners flush against the wood without cutting the liner and resealing it - which just seems like a disaster waiting to happen. I haven't heard of anyone else mention this as a problem. Am I missing something? If not how did other people handle this on setups that weren't close to being square?

Well, after changing my phrasing in searches I was able to find people folding the corners - which I thought was a bad thing that could lead to tearing? There's also people who keep the folds on top and one site saying they tuck the corners in underneath the main layer to look better. If I should just fold the corners, which way to people recommend?

Regardless of folding the corners you still need it to seal I have seen people cut strips and glue them down over the joins
