Just as with every cichlid, there are location variants, a group from one river can be a vastly different color than one from another river, depending on topography of the river (i.ecolor of substrate, turbidity, rocks or lack thereof, plants).
I have had both morphs. There is a more generically colored morph, and the red morph.
And even within the red morph there are variations, including the females being more red than males.
The first group I had, had little to no red, the 2nd had lots of red.
I didn't have a camera or know how to use one, for the 1st group (back in the 80s) although it is possible they were some other species of Parachromis (multifasciatus, freidrichstalliii).
