any true way to tell the dif between paroon and a id shark when they are small? lfs has tank full of "id sharks" but 2 of them look pretty dark to me and have real big tails. its real hard to tell b4 they develope.any help, tips?

no one??

Im looking to get some paroon sharks too. Aka (Pangasius Sanitwongsei). Paroons have more longer and sharper tips. Smaller ones almost look the same but the color of paroons is more black and iridescents are dark blue when they're young. The paroon's growth rate is more than iridescents. So choose wise according to your tank size because paroons are what they call "Tank Busters".

yea i know all about them i have researched them and been trying to find one for a year. just cant seem to tell the dif when they are babies

Look at the fin that streches to the tail if it has a dot then its a paroon. Also when its young a paroon will have a pointier dorsal then the iridescents rounded fin. Also a paroon wont have any stripes

im guessing only chance to get one is to find a mis labeld id shark?

or in a good lfs with knowledgeble workers... and a variety of fish.

young paroon´s dont have the long pointy fins, they grow longer as the fish gets bigger.

here is a small paroon:

and a small id:

easiest to tell apart at this size by the dorsal fin and that the paroon has a much wider head
