wasn't the asian arow supposed to be out of there soon too? the "rescue fish" scenario is one of the most tempting (but generally unwise) situations in the hobby. and since you're still learning some of the aquarium basics, i would avoid such situations...especially when the priority should be saving the fish you have, not taking on other projects.

what is the status of the Cuban now? either way, hope the fishes are doing well--

yes but the buyer backed out...so i'm still working on selling it...

no in this case, he was gonna put it in a bag and slam it on the floor a few times until it dies...and i really didn't want to see any fish go that way.

the cuban darkened again...she's been fluctuating a lil since last night(between light and dark)

if you didn't want to see it go that way, then you could have taken it off his hands and then just put it in the freezer...that's standard protocol for euthanizing a fish. your excuse for taking on the fish is weak, and as your Cuban is demonstrating, you still don't have the original problems under control/resolved. for the nth time, don't add any more fish to the system until you have the present problems worked out. OR the easy thing to do is add all the fish you want, let the Cuban die, and things will be less complicated (at least in terms of dealing with the Cuban) from that point onward. these problems have been going on for much longer than they should have--

maybe i didn't make myself clear...i didn't want the animal to die just cause someone was bored with it. but i already sold the cichlid off so it's all cool. hopefully i can sell the aro tmr morning too.(honestly, i dislike cichlids, and my reason for taking it in was definatly not cause i wanted it in my tank, just to be clear:))

yeah i know, and i am trying my best here too. once i sell the asian aro, im gonna go with once a week feedings(with the exception of the af aro, i'll be cutting it's diet by another half, so it'll be a quarter of the norm) and adding even more media. until the system settles down...

more media is not the answer, and cutting back that much on food isn't a great idea either. getting the system to settle down and letting it mature is going to be the key...adding fish just throws this stuff off, and with new media you're still adding weeks to the time where it will be effectively colonized.

i realize this is a photo thread, but some of these issues really do need to be dealt with, and the threads in the gar forum don't seem to be getting through to you. anyway, that's all from my side for this thread. it's a good-looking setup, just needs some time to establish itself so the fish can be in their best condition--
