That is basically the same thing that everyone else sells.

Hey J, just for reference. I am running an 100 micron inside of a 50 micron and only had to change it out after a month or so. Your fish are too dirty. LOL
nice! i think im gonna order the 50 micron bags next time. it was all those damn cichla! now my filter sock lasts for weeks since i downsized a lot :)

Do it. Put a 100 inside of the 50. It will keep them both less-clogged. they should last a bit longer that way.

just ordered some 50s, and some 4" 50 micron bags for my 150g. lets see how clear this makes it, cause the 100 micron bags do an amazing job :D

Those filter socks should be fine. I bought a 6 pack online for filtering motor oil for like 15 bucks one time that had sizes from 100 down to 1 micron.

I have to say, my water is pretty darn clear. Now, if I could just get the flow up a bit on my system to get the debris off the bottom.

I bought two Hydor Koralia magnum 8's. One is on the back left side about 8" up and I have it pointed up. The other one is on the right side in about the same position...it points to the front of the tank and up as far it'll go. It provides dead enough areas for the fish to rest, but also stirs enough water that poo doesn't last very long.

My tank is 450g, 8' L x 3' W x30" high. My biggest concern was they wouldn't stick to the 1.25" thick acrylic, but the magnets have suction on them, so no worries.

It would be easy if it was on just one tank, but I have multiple tanks running on the system.

I gotcha! Yeah, its helped my problems a lot. The only downfall is when my RTC plows into one and changes the aim. I'll get home from work with all the sand in a big pile and bare spot on the bottom of the tank.

I think next time I'm going to just try the 50 micron without using the 100 micron and see how long it lasts.

it's a pita to get those filterbags here in germany...still haven't found an affordable source. there is only one supplier for saltwater that sells them for 27$ a piece :(
