dirty tank....help

I think it was from feeding my gar...I used to power feed him, he would eat like 4 goldfish a day... the last time i boguth a dozen feeders he ate maybe 3 of them...then 9 of them just sat there i thoguth he woudl eventually eat them but never did...so i just gradually started taking them out over the course of a month...thinking maybe he woudl eat them....i took the last 4 out today...i think that was my mistake :X

Stupid question, but is the glass clean on both sides? A film on either side could make it look murky.

yeahhh glass is good. Like i know its bad but ive been clenaing it liek everyday for the past week and putting new RO in i know i know its not good...but the tank is like a main part of the living room, and its an eye sore when cloudy. So i finally tested the water...probably shouldve before but yeahh high phosphate hopefully it goes away soon

how long did u had the filter running before you change the water.. i think you probably hit bio bloom.. that makes the water murky but it clear up after 2-3 days..

ya it probably one of those bacteria bloom. it should clear up i dink ahaha. i have that once in a while, but that only after water changes

I think its probably just a bacteria bloom. Increasing circulation with a powerhead has always helped me clear these up. Your phosphate readings are kinda scary, considering you use RO water, but I've never heard of that causing cloudy water...

In the future don't change all of the filters out at the same time. If you have four of them you could just change out one every week rather than all four of them once a month. This way you will keep 75% of your beneficial bacteria when you change out the one filter.

oook, is there anything i can do to help lower the phosphate levels any faster, i just have phosphate filters now + the regular filters thats what the lady at the lfs reccomended

I would be more concerned with where exactly the heck all that phosphate came from...
