like i said previously i had like 10 feeder goldfish in there for a while...maybe a month...my gar stopped eating them and only ate pellets and **** like that, so i left them in there htinking maybe if hes hungry he will snag them, but they lived there for so long...I was told goldfish are like the dirtiest fish you can keep...anyways any tips or anythign on reducing it?? i leave for deployment in 2 days and my roomates are taking care of the tnak so i want to tell them specifically what they can do to get it back clear again

i just replaced the existing filters however they were pretty much 1 month old...ive had the tank goign for about 2 months now...and just recently it just...stays cloudy...

Algae bloom? What color is the tint? Is it white cloudy or greenish?

looks like the tank is going through a mini cycle if your replaced the old filters, you threw away the bb colonies in the older filters.

Is your tank close to any windows?

What did you do to “cycle” the tank when you started it?

I know you said “all the readings are good except phosphates”, but not everyone agrees on what’s “good”… what is your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate readings?

Goldfish are very messy fish… but high phosphates is not the likely result of their messiness…

There is a phosphate source somewhere that has yet to be mentioned in this thread. I would definitely keep looking for it.

You’ve mentioned that you added 4 new filters… but you’ve yet to tell us what brand/size/type of filters they are…

With the small amount of vague information you’ve offered thus far, your problem could be anything…

One other suggestion is to get a second opinion on your phosphates. It's always possible that your kit is bad. Ask your lfs to test it and see if they get the same readings. Also test it coming out of your RO filter before putting it in your tank.
