FunWow!;4760562; said:Its not the other fish even though jags are bastards....In the first pic you can see that the slime in the eye is building up and in the second pic alot of the clear eye membrane is gone...acid burn or ammonia burn once it gets to high it will do what it did to your pbs eyes in no time.
I may have jumped to conclusion's and for that I appoligize. Only troutking knows the true cause. If your parameter's are off then it could be ammonia burn. If you just added the jags then they could have possiably put the tank into a mini cycle. But I only said this because it was one eye on each bass. Jags are know for going straight to the point and attacking obvious point's (Eye's). Troutking you know I meant no harm by my statement i just hate to see all this ADD CHEM advice. Just doesn't make sense to me but the best of luck to you and hopefully they recover quickly for you.
If you think for a moment it's the Jag's don't risk it get them out of there. I don't have one Parachromis that gives up once they start something they mean to finish it. I lost a baby Peruvian last week to my Freddy's aggression. Cichla just have no way of defending themselves against the Parachromis aggression.
Personally I would add salt and bump up the WC for a week or two. I never add Chem's ever. And would not jump to do so for what your seeing in your tank. I have a Cichla that looks 10x's worse then that right now in my tank and I know it's from him being introduced to the hierchy of thing's in the tank, but giving time and the amount of water changes I do he will be fine. Keep us updated.
