There is a little EBJD in the local pet store i want to buy. Its about an inch long and my discus are about 2.5 inches...will they go well for a little while, or will my JD be a weenie and kill my discus
?
:screwy:

I wouldn't even try it, Discus are worth so much, So much, Get a different tank.

I'm going to agree with Pixy. As much as EBJDs are neat fish, and certainly fun to own, Discus are by far the more needy and expensive fish. If you wanted to keep your Discus properly, the EBJD wouldn't do so well, mainly the high temps discus should be kept at. When they get bigger, the JD would probably be harmful to the Discus as well.

You obviously need to buy a good reference book or you are a troll.

note, it says "little while", you obviously need to read more closely. i am fully aware that once the EBJD gets large enough it will be very aggressive...right now they're about an inch.

i have reference books, and i read them. thanks for your input, it was not helpful.

I found your question odd.
Discus and most large Cichlid species even the juveniles is are unworkable combination as the discus will be stressed by the aggression.

I have found that dwarf Pike Cichlids and Discus to be a workable combination.
Also some of the peaceful Geos if the discus are large.

I raise discus commercially so I do know a little about them. I have tried the combinations I've suggested so I know how well or not they work.

thanks for your input, but you did not need to be rude.
this is my first fish tank and wanted to raise the ebjd until it reached a size it could go in my brothers tank, that was merely the point of the question.

if you have nothing nice and/or helpful to say, say nothing, its quite simple.

The point is, you asked for advice, and you're not going to take the advice, even while it's extremely helpful. Apistomaster is oen of THE Go-To Guys when it comes to Discus on this forum.

Since this is your first fish tank, it'd be a good idea to research everything, ask people, and take the advice, rather than trying to work around it, or waiting until someone says something you agree with. Especially considering this is one of those questions that makes people with a little bit of know-how go "...Are you serious?". JDs, be they normal or EBJDs, shouldn't be kept with Discus, regardless of any of their ages, or sizes.
