Yes, discus are much too fragile to go with anything other than discus or similar peaceful fish.

This is what happens when you mix them. The discus gets all gangsta and up in other fishes faces.

ebjd act totally different from regular jd so please do not consider their behaviour to be the same. all the ebjd i have kept have never shown any aggression towards other fish, large or small.

I have 9 small, around 2 inch, Blue gene jack dempseys in a tank with 7 small angels right now with no problem. I have many JD's and EBJD's and have never seen them be aggressive towards other fish. I put feeder guppies, baby mollies and danios in the tank with them and they would not even try to chase them, let alone eat them. The only time my jacks get somewhat aggressive is when they are breeding and thats only towards the other JD's in the tank. My 8 inch male JD's is scared of a pleco in the tank that is half his size. Also, i keep my 2inch JD's at 84 degrees with no problems. They grow faster this way and eat everything in sight.

so to answer your question... yes i think you could easily keep 1 inch EBJD's with discus. Even when the EBJD is full grown I still think you might be able to house them together. I find dempseys to be shy in the first place and EBJD's are even less aggressive and shy than regular jacks.

There is a little EBJD in the local pet store i want to buy. Its about an inch long and my discus are about 2.5 inches...will they go well for a little while, or will my JD be a weenie and kill my discus
?
:screwy:
I bought a 1.5 inch JD and now he is 6 inches and have no problems at all with him and the discus, but I do have them in a 150 gallon tank. I believe there would be problems in a smaller tank though.
