how is saying, You obviously need to buy a good reference book or you are a troll good advice and extremely helpful? i think its rude and i did not find it helpful.

and i am asking people. Obviously, or i would not be on here. and please find a book that says, no matter at what size ebjds and discus cannot pair.
I understand not for a while, i just did not feel like buying a whole other tank for one fish which i was not even keeping, i was trying to help my brother out.

Most reference books describe discus as peaceful; keep with similar and JD's as aggressive; keep with similar..
This is true of them at any size. No text will list all possible combinations just enough to flag a fish based on their typical behavior.

Sorry I, "was rude." Your question resembled many that are posted by some just to draw lighting. Your intentions were good and now you have learned that the collective consensus is that they make poor tank mates.

I have kept discus with may "not discus friendly fish" including clown loaches, angelfish, firemouths, red bay snooks, and currently my discus are housed with my black arowana. The combinations always were with adult discus though. Juvinille discus should be kept only with other juvis IMO. Although the small EBJD would benefit from the warmer water, frequent water changes and high quality food that your discus are receiving.

Depending on the tank size you could possibly do it with a divider though.

IF you had a large enough tank, you may be able to pull it off for a bit. But the discus's 76F temp would ware out the EBJD FAST.

Discus need a much higher temp then 76 degrees. Need a temp more in the 82-84 degree range.

So this was a year ago.. or two..

But i'm curious again.. because I'M thinking of doing the same thing.

Discus with EBJDs... any suggestions on Ya or Nay????

Nay. These 2 species are NOT compatible. If you want JDs, keep them with other cichlids besides discus. Discus should be kept with their own kind, or fish that are very small and peaceful, like cardinals.
