Nooo, buy the aro.
and when its length becomes the same as the width of the tank, send the fish to me that way you can expirience the fish and not have to worry about it becoming too big for you.

i want the aro. is this being greedy? what if i raise it till it gets about a foot long then sell it? i love all my fish and would want to keep the aro for the life of the fish. but i know i cant. so what do you guys think about this?

Take about 6 months for a baby silver aro to reach 12", IMO yes you are being selfish if you go this route.
