Here is an update on the tank and how things are going, I've took some different angles in case I was boring people ;)

Above for a change:

Above with plants growing out of the tank, I've tried to cut it back it just keeps growing and growing:

The 4 remaining fish are doing well and constantly wanting feeding especially blood worm, We've cooked up a new batch of home made food but they prefer the blood worm at the moment. We are holding back for a while on more fish but we did see some fully grown pig bloods at £110:eek: each at a LFS that would be nice:drool: must resist temptation

Nice pics dude! Keep up the cutting back but sldo replant the cutting into the tank especially along the back glass. It will make things look even better.

Which Sword plant is that in the background? You should get say 3~4 more and bunch them up in a corner.

Thanks man:)

I do keep taking cuttings but the dam things never stay in the bottom with the limited root structure, I will keep trying and your right, the plan is to have a wall of plants as a back ground. I can't find the info on the sword at the moment it's written down in here somewhere, I'll dig it out and let you know.

That's looking great :) wicked photos!! How do you keep your plants so clean? Mine keep on getting stupid hair alge on them :(

Sounds like you may be over feeding your fish, and you either need to feed less and do more water changes or increase the amount of water you changed along with how often. Check your Nitrate levels and then check your tanks Phosphorus levels. But more than likely it's higher than normal Nitrate levels from over feeding.

Not had any problems with hair algae, do get some green build up on the glass and filter, but that just gets a wipe down twice a week.

Don't forget the canister is rated for a tank twice the size and then there is the internal filter as well. Also my plants do get some build up as they are acting as a filter themselves.

The real trick of course is before water change sway the plants a few times which dislodges anything that's built up, and wait an hour after the change until I take the shots;)

Yeah ... trying to feed them as little as possible atm.. only twice a day but will try and feed a little less.. it's not a major problem... just some plants seem more affected than others... will have a look at the water chem tomorrow and maybe do a very large change... I've only been doing 50% changes, I'll try changing a little more tomm
