Do you really wanna know? Dude I have come to understand that you English are more than a strange bunch. You say thing and that when someone say dude, it isn't that hard or difficult. If you like I can tell you what I did, and what worked for me, you go nuts saying thats what you have been looking for all this time. Anyway long story short here we are, sort of, if you recall I agreed to tell and guide you in what worked for me. I don't recall and I never agreed to a step by step chatroom on what you should do according to "Tequila" Though I did agree to tell you what and how & what worked for me. You pm me saying that you started, not that you where thinking of starting, but that you started a chatroom bases on this and that, that I had told you so far and that you wanted to see and get reactions.

Ok dude if what I tell you upsets you, not my problem. You have riped me once based a what you claim was bad company or something like that. Once shame on you twice shame on me, three times I don't even wanna go there. Heres the deal, everything I tell or say too you is based on what works for me, If I tell you something that I have never tried, and it was tried by someone and trust fine if not I don't go there. Unless I'm in a hear say mood, and I'll say so first off. I push products that work for me, not products that someone else claims are the best. I don't get money for products I push, it's what I used or use so I can say this and that.

Here it is: I think that the tank looks lame, spending a $27 bucks on the tank is lame, especailly on a 60G tank, WTF? Let me say this you have a 60G~65G tank, which is roguhly 48inches X 16 inches X 24 inches correct? Dude the first time I started a planted tank. I spent approx $150 wholesale on a 180G, 72 inches long x 18 inch wide x 30 inch high tank and felt that I missed the mark a bit. I only purchase 6~7 really tall plants for a 72 inch long tank, the rest where bulbs from Madagasgar which where tall but needed to be grouped in 3 bulb sets to fill out well. Madagasgar Lace plants are amazing looking but unless there in groups of 3 or at least 2 plus a third other plants they tend to look unreally grouped together. Dude I had six feet aof space to cover, plus I wanted 1 may be 2 super tall plants popping out of the middle of them tank for a change.

It took awhile to get what I wanted in my minds eye, in the tank. What I'm trying to say is anything less than $150 retail, in a 48 inch isn't worth talking about.

I will look to see if I can't find my original plant list from my first tank.

FYI: don't allow bulbs to flower, when they start to flower by sending up flowering stalks cut them as low as possible.

Yes I had a few drinks tonight!

I've had a few drinks myself I'll try to digest your comments tomorrow. Btw the black text is crap for me on the dark side of the spoon:ROFL:

And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
you shout and no one seems to hear
and if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Makes about the same sense

Seriously dude I'll read it and post back when I've slept but not in black text:ROFL:

You could actually get away with $75~$100 worth of plants especially since your finally buying on line.

Thanks Lou, is it just me or does that light unit look about the lease safe thing to have over a lot of water;)
It does, doesn't it? I guess the guy would have placed a sheet of glass or acrylic to prevent any water from getting into contact with the fixtures...

Anyway, the rest of the article is what's really interesting. :)

Yes I did start this thread to get reactions, opinions suggestions and other ideas but as you had guided me to using what had worked for you in the past it would be a fairly safe bet that your method work also work for me, hence why I'm using it. I am doing everything you have done/used with the exception of co2 injection that will be coming.
I may have missed your point here but I pm you saying that I'd got the flourite etc to follow the guideline that you helped me out with and took the pictures, you reply with 'start a thread' which I did.
Maybe
I should have waited until everything was setup and running with happy fish and good plant growth, it probably doesn't help that this thread is in the discus part of this site which isn't the busiest on here but then again when the site is mainly about monster fish you'd not expect it to be.

Ok dude if what I tell you upsets you, not my problem. You have riped me once based a what you claim was bad company or something like that. If you did get paid for pushing product you'd be making a good living:ROFL:
Listen, I'm using products that you have used successfully for the simple reason, they worked for you in the past. The fact that they are a lot more dearer over here is the way of the world, everything seems to be cheaper over there.

Here it is: I think that the tank looks lame, spending a $27 bucks on the tank is lame, especailly on a 60G tank, WTF? Your opinion, fine by me. If I get 100 replies saying 'lame tank' it's also fine with me, everyone is entitled to their opinions.
Again I think I've missed your point but $27, I spent $150 on the substrate alone:screwy: If your talking plants then yes I've not spent a lot and yes they are hardly exotic but I don't want to forked out a ton of $ on something that may end up dieing because of a silly novice mistake.

Again I've missed your point, but if you like that look it's all good. I'm far from happy with the look of the tank at the moment but it will get there when things start to fill out and I slowly swap this or that plant to get the look I want. I only have a 60g as I only have space for a 60g.

It took awhile to get what I wanted in my minds eye, in the tank. What I'm trying to say is anything less than $150 retail, in a 48 inch isn't worth talking about.
Do you mean the cost of the plants for that heavy planted look or the tank size and cost?

I will look to see if I can't find my original plant list from my first tank.
That would be great, a photo would be excellent:headbang2

FYI: don't allow bulbs to flower, when they start to flower by sending up flowering stalks cut them as low as possible.
Out of curiosity why?

I can tell I only asked what you thought about the tank:ROFL:

Alot of swords will go through a dormant period which in many cases with be triggered by the flowering sexual period. Then the plant looses it leaves and lies dormant for a period of time, before starting over again. But some plants invest some much energy into the flowering process that sometime they don't recover and they die.

But you shouldn't really worry about it, with your substrate and food and C02 down the road.
