DISCUS TANK "Doing it the MFK way"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Damn bro~ that's just incredible!!! I love it.Been trying to map out a discus tank myself recently and this is like the exact picture I have in mind.I would just add some tall plants as well.Simple stuff like amazon sword or java fern but it looks amazing

Great setup Joey...absolutely beautiful!! And yes we female MFK members have done the same thing...Those were the days:naughty:

Anyway...awesome job!! Still waiting on that upgrade:popcorn:

You added some round stones and upsidedown plants. Looks like we have similar tastes lol.. I see no Uaru fernandezyepezi though, did they finally have to go? :(

Your lucky I can't take good pics oir you would have a little competition

Absolutely stunning Joey! Man, you never disappoint with your tanks....:D

Dude, plan a trip to So.Cal... I need to take you over to see an incredible monster planted tank. I told him i wanted to take the MFK king pin over to check it out.

I love your tank! I love that amazon look.

To be very honest, I would take away all those coloured/ designer discus and would go all natural, all wild!

Hey Miguel, yes... I agree. I thought about another tank just for the Albino's but then that's money taken away for the bigger tank so I may downsized from like 8 to perhaps 4 or maybe even just keeping 2. But I agree, wilds by far are incredible....

You read my mind... yes, I want to attach a few ferns to the pieces of driftwood I have in the tank. Thanks...

Naw, the stone and upside down plant was there since the beginning but I removed a few of the fake grass I had in the forefront. As people called it out on, it did start to look really cheesy..lol so I removed them because they were right. Probably why the rocks and upside down plant show up more...lol... Yea, the UARUS had to go. The big one I got from Julian so I promised him that if I was to sell it, he would get it back. Then the smaller one I didn't want to get lonely so we made a deal for him to take both. At least I could always swing by I miss them. They were just WAY too aggressive. Regardless of your photo skills there's no competition, Your way up on me man... your like the back ground king with all your tanks having BG's..lol...

One specie tank is not for me. I'm more of a community person. Like my women, I like all flavors...lol... gotta have the mix. However, I am leaning towards more wilds so I think I will cut back on the captives I have. Probably just keep 4 of the Albino Royal Blues, like I originally planned.

LOL me neither. The guy at the LFS was trying to convince me to stick with 1 species. I couldn't do it. Especially with discus, I would find that impossible. So many colors and varities, and then you got captive bred vs wild caught, all equally stunning. I already want more. The guys at SD say I could easily fit another two in my tank. I'm thinking bigger already :D

incredibly awesome! thanks for sharing.

that's an awesome setup. Can you tell us a bit about how you took those pics? any special lighting ? Congrats on the set up again. Only MFK folks do it that way. :headbang2
