Ouch. Reading thru the flame fest over the color editing in that thread broke my brain.

I will admit that was a sweet looking mix and a decent looking tank.

I'm curious as to how long they had been together and what the owner was gonna do in a minute when that juvie aro out grew that shoebox. Thats no home for an aro in IMO.

Right, thanks so I will be able to keep plecos with discuses with minimal stress for the discus as long as the pleco is not hungry, right?

I got a 36g with 2 young discus, at first they were really shy but now they've relaxed, I've tested a couple tank mates, I got a molly in there for a bit it was fine, and currently there is a rope fish boarding there for a bit, and neon tetras permanently, dragon goby is alright as well.

Stay away from Chinese Algae eaters (Gyrinocheilus aymonieri). I've tried these and my discus first got bit then got even. There wasn't enough left to fishout with anything but a very fine net. \

Not surprising at all w/ a chin. algae eater. The suck on fish all the time. I will say he probably died from being cooked though over being killed. The don't typically enjoy discus hot water.

Algae eaters are terrible little fish. I had one try to eat my baby senegal bichir, it gnawed a little hole in it's side, but the bichir ate it before it could do much more than that. The biggest problem I've had with pleco's is when they decide to be pigs and eat all of the other fishes food.

I have been keeping my three discus with 2 wild 8 inch Uaru, one 12 inch black ghost knife, 3 full grown angle fish, and three red head geophagus in a bare bottom 120 gallon with no problems.
