Disease on my clown Knife? pics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i would do 25% or more water changes daily or bi daily until the ammonia spike resolves... then hit the tank with prazi pro... then get him off live... starveing a sick fish equals dead fish. night crawlers would be good, my guy went crazy for live black worms. if he'll take them right away great... but i wouldn't try and convert him until the health issues are resolved.... clean water, and prazi to deworm, gill flukes also show these symptoms and will kill if left untreated. like caught a bacterial infection from the feeders, and ammonia spike compromised his immune system. salt will only stress himout more imo, and the increase in slime coat production because of this will use up what reserves he does have.

Thanks. I took out the Cave decor he hides in all the time and inspected it. The edges are pretty jagged on the inside. I was thinking of trying to sand them down. Since he's in there all the time it only seems logical this markings are from him rubbing against these edges. Because generally hes acting completely normal. "Unsickly" Ive yet to throw a Full worm in. Ive been cutting the nightcrawlers into 4 pieces because i figured they were too big for my 5" Tiger SN.

Ill try to get an updated pic tonight. Probably do another test tonight to see if ammonia has gone down as well. But i did a 25% water change on sun&Wed.

If it does turn out to beskin damage from the inside of his cave, still raise the temp to 80 or so, and from my personal expirence over 2 years ofkeeping my rck, salt at 1/3 strength doesnt hurt at all. Its benficial for osmotic function, helps keep some parasites at bay, and can also help aid in the healing process itself. But its your call.

Keep us updated on his progress though. Hope he turns out okay for you.

I was thinking of taking the cave decor and grinding the edges to smooth them out. Its just made of plastic im assuming as long as its rinsed really well after this should be safe for the tank? And thanks for the experience info slip. Much appreciated.

This should go without saying but are you treating your water for chloramines? That will make your fish rub themselves like that. Prime will take care of it. I hate to ask such a silly question but ya never know...some people don't know that.

Any improvments on your ck? Been a few days since I saw this thread so was was curious and thought id ask lol
