I guess i'm confused...but who cares if someone wants to feed a koi to their piranha? People are real quick to get on a high horse about live feeding or about videos on you tube on rbp's eating a mouse or a frog, but really if you keep aquarium fish you are contributing to an industry that results in the death of thousands if not millions of fish a year. If your arguement is that it is a waste of money to feed piranhas a koi, thats stupid because its not your money and not your problem. To suggest that koi have more of a right to live than feeders is also absurd to me cus i believe that life is life whether its a plant, a mouse, a koi, or a piranha. The guy didnt really endanger his piranha by feeding them a koi and this is a piranha forum so why would people slam this guy? I have 8 baby rbp's in a 125, and although i could feed them guppies or comets or a koi if i so chose, i choose to keep them on mysis, tubifex worms, and newlife spectrum pellets purely because i think its a better diet. Personally i think if people wanna feed their piranhas live food that is 100% their choice, and if they post a video of it good for them...and remember if you dont like something you see on you tube you dont have to watch it!!!

My only problem with videos like that is that they perpetuate the stereo type of piranhas as mindless killers and entice people into keeping them for the wrong reasons

the reason i posted this is because the person who posted this video is using this koi for their own entertainment and is part of that stereotype that should know better about the feeding of their fish. i feel that it is unethical for a fish of that size to continue to be fed live feeder fish. they are at the size to where they could be fed other food, not only is it a waste of money to feed live feeders, but it is unnecessary.

all we got back from the user who posted this video is rude comments and remarks in regards to feeding his rbp's, and a definite fit to that stereotype which happens to be all too real.

What if your fish is an armatus? The BIG saber tooth tetra "ARMATUS".. I know there arent many people out there that got one that except frozen or dead food.

What would you do? Watch your own precious fish die of starvation or you can feed it live food to make it survive?

What if you got a 18" wild caught Rhom that only accept live food? and the feeders are too small to satisfy its hungar. What would you do?

Feeding your pet fish with frozen food is good, but not all outcome ends with a happy ending

I tried to train my two baby NTT (Northern Thailand Tiger) datnoid off feeders. What do I get in return!! Two stubborn dead NTT!!

In the end I dont feel disguse or what so ever of feeding live fish. (have to quarantine them first :D) Thats how life goes, to keep the pet and yourself happy ^^

maybe he used a koi because they are kept in better water and fed better. What's one less koi anyways, not like there isn't a ton anyways. And if he wants to waste 10 bucks on food for 5 mins of entertainment let him. Theres no reason to get mad at his 'practices'.

BTW stuff like this happens all time in the wild. Let's hope you won't take it so far as we find you screaming down into the water at a bunch of piranha in SA because they ate a 'perfectly fine' fish that wasn't a feeder.

i believe the point is that he used it for his own sick amusement, not for the nutrition of the fish.

if it wasnt fun to watch feeders and other fish get ate then there would be very few people with piranha!

theres one less koi in this world. life goes on

Not to be a jerk, but what is the difference in lets say feeding them a Koi or a "feeder" goldfish? They are both "life"..... I am not against it. I use to feed my wolf fish live mice and rats. Yes rats. My Ps I would feed other fish also. Sometimes fish I would catch in the wild. If some people get off on it then yes it is kind of sad. My whole point is it shouldn't be considered any worse to feed him a regular "feeder" than any other fish.
