OK so about I don't know 2 years ago I had a female Texas in my 29 gallon fish tank. I put 4 giant danios in the tank so that she would come out more and me a little more social. One morning I woke up to find only 3 danios and I figured that she probably ate the fish or killed it. I searched high and low just about everywhere just to make sure the fish didnt jump out. Well about two weeks ago I set up my 75 gallon for my trimac. And today I moved the 29 because there was a person who was supposed to come by and buy it from me. When I moved the stand I saw the danio dried up and crusty laying on my floor. The eyes were gone and so were the fins. And you could see where the insides had come out of the fish and onto the floor It had been sitting there for 2 whole years. Its crazy that I never smelled anything maybe because it was stuck under the stand. It was one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen.

Anyone else have any gross stories they would like to share?

Cool. Was it a Cyanoguttatus or carpintis? I cant find Cyanos around here anywhere, not even in Raleigh. Do the stores in Charlotte sell Cyanos?

it was a petsmart brand so im sure it was a mix of both. There are a few good pet shops here in charlotte that have cyanoguttatus they seem to be the more popular in the stores and the carpintis we havent seen much of i have a freind who orders from Ken davis aka fishfarm in georgia who has a nice stock of them

When I first got into the hobby I had a 25 gallon tank set up with 2 blue gouramis and a few smaller catfish. Well one day I came out to feed them in the morning and I saw that one of the gouramis was missing. I had no idea what could have happened to it. We checked all around the tank on the floor and didnt find anything. So I started taking out gravel to see maybe if she had died and got burried under the gravel by another fish. Well I took out about half the gravel and nothing... I had my hand in the tank just swooshing the gravel around looking and nothing... So here we are 2 months later and Im freaking out about why my water readings have been so weird. So I break apart the tank completly and take out all the gravel and what do I find? A skull and a few bones. I sifted through those pebbles so many times right after she went missing and had never found a body, and now I find some bones! I was kinda freaked out, but it was very much a learning exp!:evil_lol:

I found a dried up BN pleco behind one of my tanks when I moved a few months ago. It went missing a few months before that, and I couldn't figure out what happened to it. My husband found it when he moved the bookshelf. I was outside, and he came out and threw it at me. At first I thought it was a dead lizzard or something. It was soooo gross. I think it probably climbed out of the back of the tank, an d fell behind it :(
