last night my oscar kinda freaked out after taking a bite at the new heater that i was adding, and rammed himself into the glass. i was still on oscar fish. com at that time so i went back to the computer without minding oscar, and it was about half an hour later did i go back and check ocsar before going to bed, did i notice that his lower jaw was slanted/displaced. he was having a hard time opening and closing his jaw last night but this morning (although still displaced) he can use it pretty much like normal, but still had a bit of a problem intaking guppies, he can't really do a powerful strike.(i decided to feed him small guppies cause they were alot easier to swallow and chew than pellets.) and he basically acts normal, does his feed me dance and everything.
i'll take a pic this afternoon.
ammo:0
nitrite:0
nitrate:somewhere between 10 and 15ppm
is there anything i can do to help him?
will his jaw fix itself? afterall it isn't really slanted.
i just feel so bad for oscar.
thanks.

sorry about the greenish background. my tank in infested with algea.(which i don't really mind.)
you can also notice that the creavice on either side of the lower jaw is opened differently. the one on the left side of the lower jaw is opened wider.
and the lower jaw is slanted to the left(your right)
any advice would be appreciated.

i now it has happend before but i never seen a thread about it repairing.... maybe it repairs itself??? sorry i dont really know, any chance of a full tank shot?

yeah, i'll get a full tank shot.
but why would u need a full tank shot to see that it's dislocated?

I doubt you'll have any problems because of it. My wife has a Pbass named Gabby that baddly damaged his lower jaw as a fry. Other than looking strange it hasn't effected him in any way. His deformity is FAR worse than your Oscars. (I'd take a pic and post it but the tank lights are off for the night.)

Theres not much you can do other than giving him/her some smaller food for a week or so.

I had a full 10" Green Terror most beautiful fish and a 12" dovii they were fine the whole time i ahd them both never sick and never fought well one day i come home from work and they are locked up and tugging and pulling at each other well the dovii did the same thing to the GT and so i seperated them. The green terror couldnt eat goldfish or pellets and just swam around with his mouth messed up he lived like 3 weeks no food and died. I would just try and get him to eat whatever you can.Good luck
